I saw this and my mind immidiately went to Gharlane, the legendary Usenet presence. His real name was Dennis Potter, btw, and though he might not warrant his own article, those who encountered him all those years ago certainly retain fond memories of him. -- Jeffrey O. Considering that the Register obit that's linked here itself links to an article discussing the Usenet Gharlane's physical ID, I think it might be a good idea to include the information therein -- his name and some of his pseudonyms used while writing for print. The current version of this article says that his true identity "remains a mystery", which so far as I can tell is not really correct. Is there any reason NOT to include the info included in the various Register articles?
