You are correct, but the Kriegsmarine seems to have decided to abide by some of the restrictions in the early 1930s while the design was being finalized, but none of my sources discuss that in any significant amount of detail.--

Do we know what the British aircraft was that sank her?
No, just that it was a night raid, so Bomber Command's aircraft
"still lacking radar and a reinforced anti-aircraft suite" This is worded like the reader should be aware this was previously an issue, but it has never been mentioned
