The lead prominently features the claim that His work was founded on the style of John Crome, also of the Norwich School, and the Dutch School of landscape painting
.
Dutch School is a redirect to
Dutch art. To my knowledge, there is no such thing as the Dutch School. Vincent may have been influenced by some Dutch landscape painters, but it is unclear which ones. The career section then goes into a little more depth, and refers to
Dutch Golden Age painting as an influence, but the Influences, reputation and legacy section doesn't mention a Dutch painter. It seems likely that Vincent was familiar the work of
Meindert Hobbema, a favourite of John Crome. Other likely candidates are
Aelbert Cuyp and
Jacob van Ruisdael. Do any sources discuss this at all? There are sources discuss Crome's Dutch influences, but I haven't found much that relates to Vincent directly.
