Diaries

IMO it needs to be "The book of her cabinet diaries [...] was.." because a) just saying "Her cabinet diaries" implies completeness, and the published diaries are probably edited; and b) the grammar has to agree, doesn't it? and saying "were" doesn't ring true when we're only talking about one book - aren't we?
