As anyone knows, you do not do one set thing when you are defending yourself, the knuckle protrusion is likely just another potential way of causing harm, just like the point of the weapon, the edges, the pommel, the tsuba (cant remember the term for the equivalent on european swords :D).
Anyway, all this nonsense about it being wildly impractical, and likely used as some sort of stealthy surprise weapon, because hell the guy trying to kill you punching you is surprising..? An image used in this article, File:Falconglove.jpg, has been nominated for speedy deletion for the following reason: All Wikipedia files with unknown copyright status
Don't panic; you should have time to contest the deletion (although please review deletion guidelines before doing so). The best way to contest this form of deletion is by posting on the image talk page.
