The first paragraph in the 'Basic Steps' is a complete mess and makes no sense! The rest is correct.

The claim that gateway cloning has replaced endonucleases and ligases is dubious. Most academic labs still use restriction endonucleases and ligases. This seems to be more of a marketing claim than a statement of fact regarding the frequency of gateway cloning usage in the molecular/cellular biology community. Other techniques like Gibson Assembly or Golden Gate Assembly are closer to replacing endonuclease and ligase cloning than is Gateway cloning. Atlantisiron ( talk) 22:09, 20 July 2011 (UTC) reply

Invitrogen and the name change

The article mentions "Invitrogen terminology". But Invitrogen no longer exists. Should this be reworded or should all mention of specific terminology removed? I specifically refer to sections such as " (special Invitrogen nomenclature)." Also, the article could need some visual makeup ... it's not easy to read right now. 84.112.136.52 ( talk) 18:25, 14 October 2013 (UTC) reply

Wouldn't a diagram be nice?
