Gary Beikirch's story has been recently published: Blaze of Light by Marcus Brotherton. It would be good to add it here.

In the listing of awards, the combat infantryman's badge is noted. However, as a medic, he would have been awarded the Combat Medical Badge. All pictures of him in uniform show the CMB and there are no known illustrations of him wearing the CIB 74.195.41.20 ( talk) 10:32, 28 December 2021 (UTC)
