The article as posted contains the sentence: "It is worth noting that the Gregor Mendel work on the genetics of peas was first published in 1902." That statement is false. The work by Mendel was first published in 1866 "as 'Versuche über Pflanzen-Hybriden' (Experiments on Plant Hybridization) in the Verhandlungen des Naturforschenden Vereins zu Brünn (Proceedings of the Natural History Society of Brünn), following two lectures he gave on the work in early 1865." ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/History_of_genetics#Mendel). Although ignored for over three decades, attention was called to it around 1900.
Whatever the author of this sentence was trying to say, he either didn't say it, or he is in error. The section it appears in should be corrected. Saintonge235 ( talk) 22:14, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
