Notes: Most of the HKJC info belongs at HKJC article. Some of this stuff is HKJC promotion. Some of it is unverifiable or contradicted. That HKJC is a monopoly is clear. ForbiddenRocky ( talk) 02:52, 5 June 2015 (UTC)
I found this: "Most of the public parks, zoos, recreational facilities, and charities in Hong Kong were built with money donated by the Hong Kong Jockey Club. In 1955, the Jockey Club decided to devote all its surplus each year to charity. It is rather a unique organization and is part of the reason Hong Kong’s taxes are so low." http://blockedwebsite/festivals/hong-kong-horse-racing-season.htm
This is very interesting, but at the same time I'm not finding corroborating information other than at HKJC's webpage. Also, I'm not sure how current this information is. ForbiddenRocky ( talk) 17:15, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Interesting, the website is blacklisted at Wikipedia. ForbiddenRocky ( talk) 17:15, 8 June 2015 (UTC)
Further notes, there are interesting things about gambling charities that would be encyclopedic to include, if they could be verified in RSs. The charity section of the article would benefit from this greatly. ForbiddenRocky ( talk) 05:40, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
Most of the sources came from the HKJC webpages and there was a lot of COPYVIO from those pages; this caused most of the entry reading as a promo for HKJC. I don't believe this was intentional, just an artifact of being mostly from those pages.
However, this entry still needs better sources. In particular:
I tried find new sources for the above information, but some are blacklisted. Others make claims that are very strong and possibly suspect, and I was unable to find verification for what I did find. Relying on just the HKJC website is not good enough for RS purposes. ForbiddenRocky ( talk) 05:35, 9 June 2015 (UTC)
