Unless I'm mistaken, "Galactic archaeology" is the study of the formation of the Milky Way Galaxy, hence "Galactic" (adjective for the Milky Way Galaxy). The first reference given, Astronomy Magazine, doesn't discuss "galactic archaeology", however it does use a playful title "Galactic Archaeology", without actually covering the field of "Galactic archaeology". All the references except the first one deal with the Milky Way Galaxy. The first one (Astronomy Magazine) only deals with distant galaxies.
Note that "Galactic astronomy" is the study of the Milky Way Galaxy, not the study of galaxies. 65.93.12.101 ( talk) 02:57, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
Please help. What's the technical term for Galactic archaeology? This should redirect there, right? Anna Frodesiak ( talk) 23:39, 4 April 2011 (UTC)
