![]() | On 19 June 2023, it was proposed that this article be moved from GKN Driveline to GKN Automotive. The result of the discussion was moved. |
The result of the move request was: moved. While there were COI issues with the nominator, there is still support for the move, which makes sense. ( non-admin closure) - 🔥 𝑰𝒍𝒍𝒖𝒔𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝑭𝒍𝒂𝒎𝒆 (𝒕𝒂𝒍𝒌)🔥 13:07, 26 June 2023 (UTC)
GKN Driveline → GKN Automotive – Update to company page to reflect company name. I had previously tried to add it but there was a question over it. Performance Communications ( talk) 08:40, 19 June 2023 (UTC) This is a contested technical request ( permalink). Performance Communications ( talk) 08:44, 19 June 2023 (UTC)
The previous name of the page was correct but the company has been known for the last 16 years as GKN Automotive ( See Companies House for evidence)). They just wanted to update the Wikipedia page to reflect this. Hopefully, that's ok?
COI I work for the PR agency that does the communications for GKN Automotive who have asked if it's possible for us to correct the information held. An overeager colleague mistakenly tried to correct the information but I have tried to revert and post here to be transparent about the COI and ask for approval for the change.
Change requested
Owner - Melrose PLC Dowlais Group Plc
[1]
https://www.dowlais.com/
Parent -
GKN PLC
Justification
I would like to propose a change to the information about the Owner and Parent of GKN Automotive.
On 20th April 2023, Dowlais completed the demerger of the GKN Automotive, GKN Powder Metallurgy and GKN Hydrogen businesses from Melrose Industries PLC (“Melrose”) into Dowlais (the “Demerger”). More information about that can be found here https://www.gknautomotive.com/en/media-centre/news-releases/2023/dowlais-group-plc-dowlais-or-the-company--completion-of-demerger-and-admission-of-shares-in-dowlais/
As such I would like to update the Owner information in the info panel to remove Melrose PLC and replace it with Dowlais Group Plc. The website for Dowlais is https://www.dowlais.com/
Additionally I would like to remove the Parent GKN as this is no longer accurate - As can be seen at the end of the GKN page. Andy murphy 3434 ( talk) 15:04, 29 June 2023 (UTC)
