I think there is enough evidence from various sources to at least mention the possibility that Funky Flashman (nice guy or NOT) is based on Stan Lee. Jack Kirby left Marvel on not so friendly terms and much has been written about how he (and his wife Roz) felt toward Stan. If you have read Ronin Ro's Tales To Astonish biography of Kirby, you will realize that it's not just fans, but Kirby and Lee's colleagues also saw something suspiciously familiar about Funky Flashman. It's enough to say that the outward appearance and speech pattern of the character is noticeably similar without having to go into the controversy of WHY he did it.
