I've removed the following from the article:
The series follows people with reported eating disorders, namely addiction to a particular type of food, most of the disorders are made up and the program is based on reported events.
Although each episode is titled "addicted to X", I feel this is misleading as the people on the show don't have an addiction in the sense that they are compelled to eat the food, it's more like the opposite, a phobia of foods which are "different". I've watched several episodes and one or two of the "freaky eaters" have described it this way. Also, the people on the show haven't been diagnosed with any recognized eating disorders, other than being labeled "freaky" by the show. Meddlingkid ( talk) 12:12, 16 March 2008 (UTC)
I agree, the name of the show is a consequence of a common misunderstanding of the word "addiction". The people on this show may well have an unhealthily monotonous diet, but to be quite honest, so what? They're adults and its up to them what they eat! This program is simply another social engineering idea, along the lines of "them and us" - it creates a means for "ordinary people" to watch and say "oh how weird....at least WE are not like that". The answer of course is "No, you're not like that, but so what?" More pseudoscience and watered down claptrap to placate the sheep. StanPomeray ( talk) 21:37, 31 October 2009 (UTC)

– The American program is actually the WP:PRIMARYTOPIC according to page views, even though the UK version came first – the American version is currently incorrectly named under WP:NCTV in any case, and has to be moved (the alternative option would be Freaky Eaters (U.S. TV program), if this is considered to be a WP:NOPRIMARY situation). -- IJBall ( contribs • talk) 18:41, 24 July 2018 (UTC) --Relisted. -- IJBall ( contribs • talk) 14:23, 2 August 2018 (UTC)
