This was a surprisingly contentious issue at WP:CAPS a while ago, and I feel obliged to put this issue to rest. This concerns the capitalization of "like" when being used as a preposition. Since the "like" in proper nouns such as "Freak L(l)ike Me" is being used as a preposition, it technically shouldn't be capitalized. However, almost all media sources capitalize "like," so there's little point in following some Wikipedia guideline if it doesn't make logical sense. — Xnux the Echidna 01:46, 23 November 2008 (UTC)
Half this article is about a cover of the song. that song should have its own page, rather than take up almost this entire article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.105.7.183 ( talk) 02:09, 30 January 2009 (UTC)
Freak Like Me → Freak like Me – "like" is a preposition less than five letters long, so it shouldn't be capitalised. Per Wikipedia:Naming conventions (music)#Capitalization. See also Moves like Jagger, Someone like Me and A Girl like Me. Unreal7 ( talk) 17:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
Since the images, File:Dontchafreaklikme.JPG has been removed by one editor citing WP:NFCC and reverted by two other editors also citing WP:NFCC, I am starting a discussion here so that the image is not deleted simply for being orphaned.
The single cover for the Sugababes cover version passes the points of WP:NFCC. WP:NFCC#3 is met because the single cover is used for identification its version and the Adina Howard single cover cannot convey equivalent significant information and/or identification of Sugababes's version. WP:NFCC#8 is met because the single cover are used for identification and the image increases readers' understanding and not having them would be detrimental to the understanding of Sugababes's version. The single cover passes the first example of acceptable use of fair images at WP:NFCI: "Cover art: Cover art from various items, for visual identification only in the context of critical commentary of that item (not for identification without critical commentary)."
The current consensus for single covers in section infoboxes to represent notable cover versions are that they pass WP:NFCC and WP:NFCI. Since WP:SONGCOVER says notable cover versions should be covered in the article about the song and not have its own article, but if it had its own article, the image would be acceptable there, so it is acceptable in the sections of the song article. The single cover is not alternate cover for the Adina Howard cover, it is the primary cover for Sugababes's version and should be treated as such. If it is felt that the image should still be removed than the image should be taken to Wikipedia:Files for deletion instead of simply removed from the article. Yes it has the same name, but you can't really call it a cover version when it uses a completely different backing track. It's similar to another Richard X production, " Being Nobody" (that's a mashup too - taking " Ain't Nobody" and putting it over the backing track of " Being Boiled"). That song's notable enough for its own article and its pretty much in the same boat as "Freak like Me", and this song was even more successful so I believe the Sugababes song really warrants its own article. Whether the fact that it doesn't have an article is due to boths songs having the same name I don't know, although according to iTunes, the mashup song wasn't even originally called "Freak like Me", but "Are Freaks Electric?".
