I feel like Barber's history of abusive behavior and transphobia on social media needs to be documented here. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.196.162.105 ( talk) 14:01, 20 March 2022 (UTC)
Starting with the Pet Shop Boys seems strange. -- Beardo ( talk) 17:28, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
"In her early career (up until her early forties), she was often cast as an attractive young woman."
This is sexist, even though perhaps unintended. 80.0.209.229 ( talk) 23:48, 2 February 2013 (UTC)
The article has been repeatedly edited to change the descriptions of both the nature of the response to JK Rowling's views and those views themselves. I suggest that we stick with the actual language used in the cited source from The Scotsman, which refers to them as "abuse and death threats" and "comments on gender identity" respectively. The source also says that Rowling "vehemently denies she is transphobic". Given that Rowling's gender-critical views are protected in law it is likely to be discriminatory to describe them as "transphobic" - it is certainly not NPOV to do so in Wikipedia's own voice. A bizarre semantic argument. "GC" views are anti-trans, and thus transphobic. This doesn't change because parts of a single case were won. It's entirely true that the law doesn't yet do enough about transphobia. That doesn't mean it shouldn't be called out. ShanaChan95 ( talk) 12:47, 18 August 2022 (UTC)
