I think a word about French ambitions overseas should be mentioned here, can anyone help out? I dont really know much on the subject or Id work on it myself.
I started a discussion on the talk page of the main article History of France, suggesting that the order of sections in sub articles should be changed, any comment there welcome. See Talk:History of France. Equendil Talk 20:09, 23 June 2006 (UTC)
Feel free to revert any grammar changes I made which changed meaning. Some of the things I changed seemed to be 'French-isms' ... or French transliterated into English (for example, "incarne" which would seem to mean something like "to be a physical representation of" like incarnate). It just sounded too odd to leave it. Feel free to change things to something else, just don't change them back to exactly what they were because they were difficult to understand or outlandish in English. -- Matthew 23:05, 11 July 2006 (UTC)
I also significantly reworded an entire paragraph about the Paris Commune-- it seems to accord with Paris Commune now. If something is factually incorrect now, please correct it. In general, I believe this is now correct. The entire article could use citations, though. -- Matthew 00:10, 12 July 2006 (UTC)
if i'm not mistaken, the first ten years of the 3e Republic (the Moral Order) were certainly not anti-clerical. do we feel comfortable changing that? -- ponyboy 16:20, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
Such a short section on this did not do justice to the importance of this period - I expanded it. James5555 08:43, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
this page sucks especially after I read why it was called the long nineteenth century. Delete this crap or merge it. I was searching for 19th century france not the end of the 18th century and 50 years into the 20th century give it another title like 'marxist france history' What can't be found on this page that I can not find if I searched 'French History wiki' likely nothing but a different view of how social events influenced this and that. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 149.152.34.59 ( talk) 18:32, 13 November 2010 (UTC)
Is this an appropriate term for an encyclopedia to use? It seems rather casual in tone. Funnyhat ( talk) 23:30, 27 December 2016 (UTC)
