Foster Furcolo's first adminstration was marred by news reports of bribery. He won reelection through a stroke of luck after the original Republican candidate died, but while in office never he overcame a taint of scandal. Four years after he left office, Republican attorney general Ed Brooke convinced a grand jury to indict Furcolo for bribing members of the Governor's Council to approve a political appointee. Furcolo was eventually cleared of the charges. Furcolo is widely remembered in Massachusetts for his support of community colleges.

I have an iPhone and can't edit this sentence... But the punctuation is incorrect. If I can get to a computer before someone can help me fix the sentence then I will edit it myself and delete this talk page topic. • No DABs, external links good.
• There's no way that source for the infobox photo is correct since he wasn't even born yet. Doubt that you can track its correct attribution since the problem seems to be on Flickr's end, though.
  • The inaccuracy on the part of the Internet Archive Flickr stream is because the image is taken from a series of publications that began in 1906.
