Legally this is utterly wrong, and bad information that could get someone in a wealth of trouble. Under the Acts Interpretation Act we are instructed to take the natural and ordinary meaning of words. In the Mining Act 1992 it states Mining and Prospecting as a section and Fossicking as a separate section. Within the act fossicking is ALWAYS treated differently to prospecting. Fossicking is legal under section 12. Mining and prospecting comes with a litany of other regulations involved. Interestingly I cannot find a legal definition of fossicking IN the act itself which brought me here only to find how off base this article (like most content on Wikipedia) is from reality. 121.210.33.50 ( talk) 11:20, 21 July 2019 (UTC)
