POV?

"goes into excruciating detail ... the book may seem tedious or uninteresting ... those very efforts seem to distract many readers from the significance of the work as a whole ..." I refrain from editing any of these expressions at this point, but they have a distinct POV feel to me. I've always found this one of Cherryh's most absorbing works, but that's my POV, I suppose. "Many" readers? How many? No mention of her use of "documentary" material (reports, transcripts of conversations etc; partial parallels with Cyteen). That will have to come.
