Is there a railroad station or railroad line in Fort Mudge? Was there once? This would be worth mentioning. Is it on a state highway? Does an Interstate highway pass through or near Fort Mudge? Eastmain ( talk • contribs) 05:04, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
From the Pogo (comic strip) reference, I would guess that Fort Mudge is near the Okefenokee Swamp. Can this be confirmed? Is it in or near the Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge and the Okefenokee Wilderness? Eastmain ( talk • contribs) 05:04, 6 April 2011 (UTC)
The history which was here ("built around the time of the Revolutionary War") appears to be nothing but myth, but it's impossible to say as the first citation given is 404 (and I cannot locate a new URL for it), and the second citation does not mention Fort Mudge at all. I have updated the history using what I beleive to be accurate sources. The idea that the fort was created during the Florida War also passes the common sense test, since it's location would have been on the border of hostilities for that war. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 174.48.95.185 ( talk) 00:39, 10 January 2019 (UTC)
