Forde Abbey is in the Parish of Thorncombe, Dorset. It is close to Chard, Somerset but not in Somerset. Colinrosewell 05:52, 29 August 2007 (UTC) reply

There is a difference between a postal address which uses the nearest large community as a locator and the actual physical location which may lie across the boundary of the county. A close look at the Ordnance Survey shows that Forde lies just on the Dorset side of the border which runs along the river Axe which borders the property.
