It seems that the Crown Colony's flag may be the one with a palm tree. The owner noted that it was produced in 1950, even though the "flag badge" with this design was only adopted in 1952. So where does the flag with the shield fit in? A report posted on the Flag Institute website says that a defaced blue ensign with the "shield of arms" and Union Jack was only used after September 1949.
I also removed the purported former flag of George Town, as I cannot locate a single source other than the CRWflags website, which does not seem to link to any source. May anyone assist if they have some history books on Penang? Seloloving ( talk) 07:04, 31 August 2022 (UTC)
