Taylor Swift wrote this song about her freshman year of high school. Taylor uses an autobiographic style. As such, Fifteen draws on biographical information about her, her friend, and their classmates. The Biographies of Living Persons policy states:
Editors must take particular care when adding information about living persons to any Wikipedia page. Such material requires a high degree of sensitivity, and must adhere strictly to all applicable laws in the United States, to this policy, and to our three core content policies:
* Neutral point of view (NPOV) * Verifiability (V) * No original research (NOR)
AND
Biographies of living persons (BLPs) must be written conservatively and with regard for the subject's privacy. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a tabloid: it is not our job to be sensationalist, or to be the primary vehicle for the spread of titillating claims about people's lives, and the possibility of harm to living subjects must always be considered when exercising editorial judgment. This policy applies to BLPs, including any living person mentioned in a BLP even if not the subject of the article, and to material about living persons on other pages. The burden of evidence for any edit on Wikipedia rests with the person who adds or restores material. [emphasis added]
Taylor and her peers were minors when these events occurred. Therefore, by Wikipedia policy and common courtesy, they are entitled to a greater presumption of privacy. Sehome Bay ( talk) 00:06, 12 June 2010 (UTC)
diff. Be on the lookout for IP's "correcting grammar errors" (it's more suspicious than empty edit summaries). I'm seconds away from sleep or I'd fix it myself now. Chances are I'll still get to it first, but in case anyone's watching this page, take care of it.
