I have yet to see a picture of a Swinger WITH "Swinger" on the head. All the pictures I have seen just say "Fender". NickS 14:27, 18 October 2007 (UTC)
RE: Name on head: Look at Ben Kweller's website. He's lucky enough to have a mint swinger, with the 'swinger' logo. -- Wanderingjew ( talk) 06:17, 2 June 2008 (UTC)
the Fender logo was excess stock with the name of the guitar clipper off, similar to the "no-caster" of the 50's. The Swinger name was applied with a Sticker. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 65.36.47.164 ( talk) 18:16, 11 April 2012 (UTC)

I hate that 'this article states no sources or references' thing at the top of the Swinger page. Any place or book we can go to so that we can verify this data? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wanderingjew ( talk • contribs) 09:30, 15 September 2008 (UTC)
Are we certain about the colors available? I know that musicmasters only came in red, white, and blue for a time in the '60's. I have seen somewhere that Fender sort of let up on this patriotic scheme for the Swinger just to get them out of the door. On shortscale.org, there's even a purple-burst swinger. We just need to get this color thing straightened out. 68.80.140.212 ( talk) 22:26, 4 January 2009 (UTC)
The Fender Swinger has become a vintage guitar and a collector's item.
This cannot stand without reference to some credible objective source. And pasting it blithely at the end of Development and design makes no sane sense.

Between 300 and 600 Swingers were produced
only 250 to 300 Swingers were ever produced
If both statements are true, then EXACTLY 300 Swingers were produced!! I am inclined to simply flip a coin & make the loser disappear.
I should also note that "number produced" is going to be larger than "number sold at retail." Can anyone prove that Fender didn't simply strip a few for parts and destroy the carcases?
