Both are pretty much the same entity to the point that Raet-Tawy seems to be used interchangeably both in the article as well as in the sources listed there.
I'm a layperson, i.e. "man off the street". I came here because yesterday at the grocery I noticed a man had a tattoo that was familiar, but I didn't know what it was. So today I did a bit of Google research and learned that it was the "Eye of Ra" and not the "Eye of Horus". So I came here to this Article to learn more about the "Eye of Ra" and this is where I have problems. I've read the Article 3 times and I am still unable to tell if there is a difference between "Ra" and the "Eye of Ra". Sometimes it seems that these are two different Gods, and sometimes it seems that the "Eye of Ra" is a metaphorical "part" of the larger god "Ra". My assumption is that if it is unclear to me, it is also unclear to others. Perhaps those that are extensively educated in Egyptology are so familiar with the subject that putting effort into differentiating between the two seems unnecessary, but Wikipedia, particularly the lede of the Article, should be aimed first and foremost to the layperson. I think the lede should either spell out that they are either different, or the same, and/or there should be a separate and standalone section dedicated to the purpose of clarifying this question. Please note I'm not asking the question, so there's no need for anyone to post the "answer". I'm stating that the Article could be improved by addressing this lack of clarity. 2605:6000:6FC0:25:70F7:DBF:A3F2:E86D ( talk) 19:06, 9 July 2020 (UTC)
