Not sure why this article has been flagged as containing possible hoax material - the Bruno Martino reference appears to be correct if not well-expressed. If I don't see any further discussion on here, I will rewrite and tidy up, possibly adding also to the rather sketchy Bruno Martino page (though there is a very comprehensive-looking Italian page on this subject).
