This page is much better than the bad job I originally did for it, but it needs some serious revision.—Preceding unsigned comment added by Ealster2004 ( talk • contribs)
I just remembered I have a signed version of this book.—Preceding unsigned comment added by JokersAce0 ( talk • contribs)
I think this article needs to be expanded. It is much to short and has much to little information. If I were a member of Wikipedia, I would do it myself. My suggestion is to add more background information on the author and maybe some trivia. I believe that would make for a much more interesting article. Update: I don't know anything about the the author and I don't have any trivia. So will someone PLEASE clue me in?! 172.128.101.161 01:16, 16 January 2007 (UTC)
This page needs pictures or illistrations to explain better! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.182.37.179 ( talk) 00:26, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
Nowhere in the article does it mention the film adaption starring Amanda Balon as Esperanza. Will someone please add? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Tweedle20 ( talk • contribs) 19:02, 31 July 2008 (UTC) and also shae rochelle tanner lives on —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.146.22 ( talk) 22:14, 26 March 2009 (UTC)
Sept. 29 2017 -- This page needs serious edits. The first section has terrible capitalization and punctuations errors.
Hi1 I did some work on this, adding the sections on critical reception and awards. I also cut the plot way back, to fit WP:MOS guidelines, but I did it quickly and it's not necessarily well written. The background section should be redone, there's a lot of info to add, but it all needs to be cited. This book gets assigned in school a lot, its a pity it has a poor article, but there's only so much time...

Not only is the Background section uncited, it has very little relevancy to this novel. Background is talking about anti-Mexican laborer sentiments in Oklahoma whereas this novel is set in California. I'm not saying there weren't similar anti-Mexican feelings in California, but this "background" seems pretty random for the actual subject.

I added a character list to this page, as most other books on Wikipedia have. However, it is incomplete. I'd be happy to finish this page at a later date! Dom.estalive ( talk) 21:06, 5 March 2022 (UTC)
