I've added some interwikis. The German one, de:Erg (Sahara), isn't perfect, since its scope is limited to the Sahara, but it's pretty close. Melchoir 03:41, 20 May 2006 (UTC)
Technically speaking Antarctica is the world's largest dessert not the Sahara as mentioned on line 4 in the first paragraph. Pel99 18, February, 2007
I've had a read of the article and checked it against the criteria. There being no major problems, I've passed it. All I can suggest is adding an image to go with the extraterrestrial ergs, if possible. The list of ergs was a little long so I made a second column. Although it's not a problem with the article itself, it would definitely look better with few red links.
As for length, it is a little short, but I'm not sure how extensive the article should and could be. I don't see length as a problem, but going into greater depth would in no way harm the article either. This is only the first review I've done, and I know very little about the subject, so comments from more experienced editors would be welcome. Richard001 03:24, 28 April 2007 (UTC)
In order to uphold the quality of Wikipedia:Good articles, all articles listed as Good articles are being reviewed against the GA criteria as part of the GA project quality task force. While all the hard work that has gone into this article is appreciated, unfortunately, as of October 11, 2008, this article fails to satisfy the criteria, as detailed below. For that reason, the article has been delisted from WP:GA. However, if improvements are made bringing the article up to standards, the article may be nominated at WP:GAN. If you feel this decision has been made in error, you may seek remediation at WP:GAR.

North American deserts’ 2-percent coverage makes that continent’s deserts the least sandy. North America has no ergs as a result. The continent’s largest dune fields—the Algodones in CALIFORNIA, White Sands in NEW MEXICO, and Great Sand Dunes in COLORADO— are too small to qualify as ergs. ... but in the wikipedia article, it states ; The only active erg in North America is in the Gran Desierto de Altar that extends from the Sonoran Desert in the northwestern Mexican state of Sonora to the Yuma Desert of Arizona and the Algodones Dunes of southeastern California. An erg that has been fixed by vegetation forms the Nebraska Sandhills. ... what is correct here ? -- Just2correct ( talk) 14:45, 1 September 2019 (UTC)
