The birth year for Emily Haines is given as 1967 in this wiki article but according to the Tweed interview (bottom of page link), Emily states "When I was in grade 12, the first Gulf War happened." If this is the case, her birth year would be closer to 1973. - puttypapyrus
A whole paragraph ripped from answers.com, of all places.
The Metric article says Emily was born in Ontario; this one says she was born in India. So somebody's wrong. Darthmix ( talk) 13:01, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
I was watching the 2004 movie "Clean" starring Nick Nolte and Maggie Cheung. Emily Haines, as well as Metric are featured. Emily has several lines near the beginning of the movie and Metric performs 'Dead Disco' from their first album.
This article needs updating, Haines has a new band, possibly new albums and is going on tour. A bit of news and a legal concert can be heard here: http://radio3.cbc.ca/blogs/2006/10/Emily-Haines-Announces-Tour-With-The-Soft-Skeleton 216.75.170.81 15:50, 27 October 2006 (UTC)
Where was this confirmed? Or is it even confirmed at all?

I don't speak German, but "1974" and "New Delhi" are in the same sentence. Maybe it will help sort this out? I found this article in her blog on her MySpace page.
No her birth year is not confirmed in almost all checked sources ie. interviews, emilyhaines.com. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Evin murray ( talk • contribs) 04:10, 12 April 2007 (UTC).
I just made a couple of changes, although one needs further explanation.
First, I changed What is Free to a Good Home from an Album to an EP release. Her website (emilyhaines.com) confirms that this is an EP and not an album, therefore I felt the change was warranted. Here's just one sample of what the website states on an entry dated May 2007: "It's also the release of an EP called What Is Free To A Good Home? that has some unreleased songs on it, plus a remix by Mr. Todor Kobakov."
Secondly, I changed the date on Grow Up & Blow Away from 2002 to 2007 because it is being officially released this year. This is the one that will need further explanation. If we are listing the official release dates for these albums, then 2007 would be correct, despite that the album was actually made available in 2002.
Also, there is an Untitled EP that was being sold at shows in 2004-2005. The EP had two songs, Sprig and an alternate version of Detective Daughter, should we include this in the discography as well?
The introduction really doesn't age well, as it is listing every release, but missing new ones as they come out. Discography could also be updated with new Emily Haines & The Soft Skeleton EP. If the introduction gets a rewrite it could really benefit from some references as well. -- 24.85.87.244 19:11, 20 July 2007 (UTC)
Hi. I have made a small change in paragraph 4, word 4. I have changed the word 'album' to 'EP' to reflect that "What Is Free To A Good Home?" is indeed an EP and not an album. I believe it is a minor change, so I assume it will not be a problem. My apologies if my description of this change on this talk page is not in keeping with the accepted format of Wikipedia. I am a very occasional user, so please feel free to clean this up if it is messy at all. Thank you. Daniel1980 ( talk) 23:19, 4 December 2007 (UTC)
I don't know how to make the correct references and links, and I'm too lazy to try and figure it out. Still, Haines is in the music clip in question, so I mentionned it in the article. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 69.159.109.44 ( talk) 00:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)
