Proposal to delete reference to entering the blood royal upon marriage to Margaret de Fiennes:
If it is true that Edmund's paternal grandmother
Gwladus Ddu was the legitimate daughter of Joan Plantagenet, which there apparently is sufficient evidence to conclude that it is at least a realistic possibility, then to say that the Mortimer family "entered the blood royal" upon Edmund's marriage to
Margaret de Fiennes may not be a correct statement, since Edmund's father,
Roger Mortimer would then be the great-grandson of
King John. I would therefore recommend that we remove this language until it can be conclusively proven that
Gwladus Ddu was the daughter of
Llewylyn's mistress Tangwystl Goch. — Preceding
