Technically and legally speaking this facility has been called East Jersey State Prison for quite sometime (I believe over 20 years) so any references and articles should be done under the proper legal name and not the former name. Therefore, I propose that this article be moved to East Jersey State Prison and Rahway State Prison be #REDIRECT Dancing is Forbidden ( talk) 03:16, 7 March 2010 (UTC)
2nd paragraph: "On August 11, 1972, three convicted murderers escaped by sawing the bars of a third floor window. Later three officers were suspended for being responsible. In August 1980, in an effort to reduce the numbers of escapes, prisoners were issued gray prison uniforms."
The infobox says the prison is mixed-security and was founded in 1901, while the lead says it's maximum security and opened in 1896. The historical information is sourced to a book to which I do not have access. Which is correct? Lockesdonkey ( talk) 16:56, 28 October 2019 (UTC)
