It was not used in Italian Somaliland at all. - ( 192.190.108.19 06:48, 4 May 2006 (UTC))
Any news about what kind of value the new shilling will have? Will it be set at a high enough value for 1-cent coins, for example? Nik42 02:24, 17 July 2006 (UTC)
I have validated the variation and date of the first 3 tables using my 2004 catalog. -- ChoChoPK (球球PK) ( talk | contrib) 08:19, 6 June 2007 (UTC)
The recent changes, which were not discussed before implementation, have created an unnecessary mess. This article (currently called "old") is about the only East African shilling to have existed. No other currencies which share their name and circulation area use "new" and "old" to split them in to separate articles and there is no reason to do it with this article. At the very least, this article should be called "East African shilling" whilst the other article could be called "East African shilling (proposed)" or reincorporated in a complete reversion. Either way, discussion is needed. Unfortunately, by editing
East African shilling after the move, an editing nightmare has been created.

All the information is dated from around 2007. An unpdate of the status of this planned currency is needed Passportguy ( talk) 19:21, 29 May 2009 (UTC)
The new East African Shilling is intended for issue only in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda. Both Burundi and Rwanda will continue to use the Burundian franc and the Rwandan franc respectively, even though they will be member states of the East African Community. - ( 202.89.136.133 ( talk) 07:18, 30 June 2009 (UTC))
