Why A5?

Why is only the A5 model covered, shouldn't there be some sort of information on the whole Tecra line, including the old ones? Tails0600 ( talk) 12:42, 3 June 2008 (UTC) reply

Have at it.

Adding a listing of all Tecra models, current and discontinued. My blurb in the history gives a link to details on each model. I recommend we simplify the format of the A5 and start filling in details. Perhaps something tabular? Is there another page talking about a product line we can use as a model? -- Kickstart70- T- C 20:43, 17 September 2008 (UTC) reply

Move

To "Dynabook Tecra" or simply "Tecra"? The Toshiba naming currently obsolete, so. ThisIsNotABetter ( talk) 13:49, 8 May 2021 (UTC) reply

Major reorganization needed?

There seems to be a lot of duplication of information on this page. For example, the 700CS and 700CT models do not really warrant separate entries - a "700CS/700TS" listing with customization options would make things clearer, with (for example) a footnote to explain that the 700CS had a different type of screen from all the other models in the 700 series and was an outlier in that respect. Video/audio chipsets could probably be mentioned in a very brief sentence before the tables as there does not seem to be much point in including mostly the same information for every model. For the 700 series, I think it would be sufficient to say that there were two main video chipset families used throughout the series' lifespan (C&T and S3 ViRGE) and indicate in brackets which models used which chipsets.

Also, the "Origin" and "Portfolio" sections have some investor relations-type material that is not particularly helpful; saying that "[the] Tecra 8100 notebook reduced long term Total Costs of Ownership" needs some supporting evidence, otherwise the statement is meaningless. I am happy to help with reorganizing this page if nobody has any objections, but I do think that some serious editing is needed. As a starting point, I think it would be helpful to look at archived versions of the Toshiba web site (such as https://web.archive.org/web/19980119202007/http://www.toshiba.com/tais/csd/products/portable/index.htm) to see how Toshiba positioned the Tecra in their overall product portfolio and what they considered to be the flagship model in each series.
