I read in one secondhand account that Nixon kept the Russians fully apprised of Duck Hook, especially the nuclear solution. Is there any corroboration of this? - 98.116.26.145 ( talk) 00:21, 21 July 2011 (UTC)
I believe it's worth mentioning that DUCK HOOK was a part of Nixon-Kissinger "jugular diplomacy". Kissinger's (the good cop) role was to convey Nixon's (the bad cop) threats for the purpose of intimidating Norh Vietnamese into negotiations. Therefore, DUCK HOOK wad not a REAL plan of military operation, but merely a bluff. More info in FRUS, Vietnam, January 1969-July 1970, docs. 106 and 108 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 195.177.196.51 ( talk • contribs)
