The article says there is going to be a remake of this film, but there is no citation. It's not listed at imdb, and I can't find anything with google, so I added the fact tag. If it's not cited within a month, I'll delete it from the article. Grundle2600 ( talk) 01:14, 1 March 2009 (UTC)
There is an article in Reuters from 4-28-09 stating that Russell Brand is in talks to play the lead roll of the remake...

It seems as if the beginning paragraph's reference to the movie being "well-received" contradicts the paragraph in the "Reception" heading, which is probably the more realistic one. I can't fix it, but can someone else? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.242.90.11 ( talk) 22:21, 22 May 2009 (UTC)
I see from the edit history, there's debate over which term was used in the movie. Actually, both terms are used in the movie. Grundle2600 ( talk) 03:27, 8 July 2009 (UTC)
Drop Dead Fred (2011 film) was started as a stub, but later merged and redirected to this article. At some point, it will have to be unmerged. Grundle2600 ( talk) 01:38, 21 July 2009 (UTC)
Can anyone find any information on the original story, or its author Elizabeth Livingston? I'm curious to know what sort of effect the casting of Rik Mayall had on the source material and whether anything more substantial has been written in the Drop Dead Fred universe.
