Almost everything in the Tortelvis page is duplicated in the "History" section of Dread Zeppelin. Plus, Tortelvis is only mentioned a couple times in his own bio; the focus is on the band, with almost no biographical info. —Preceding unsigned comment added by The Fossor ( talk • contribs) 18:54, 8 November 2007 (UTC)
A big thanks to Buddachile for adding so much real names behind the various persona. I would love to add a section band members, with perhaps a list of their presence / absence per album. This could be a start with the merge with Tortelvis, and if enough is added with time we could give each members it's page. If Buddachile is reading this, do you have enough information? I rarely stumbled upon the real names, and have no idea who changed names, when and for what reason. For an L.A. area band do we even know why no real credits are in the albums? Shouldn't this article make reference to members of LZ's opinions on the band? I know at very least Robert Plant has expressed liking them: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NNSSpXapks0&feature=related Centerone ( talk) 05:47, 27 February 2010 (UTC)
"When The Prime Movers ended in 1989, Jah Paul Jo hatched the idea for a "new" group that would call itself "Dread Zeppelin."[4][dubious – discuss] Aside from the three original members, the band recruited guitarist Carl Jah (Carl Haasis) and 300-pound Vegas-era Elvis impersonator Tortelvis (Greg Tortell).[5] Longtime graphic artist for The Prime Movers, Bryant Fernandez, was brought in as conga-man, Ed Zeppelin.[6][dubious – discuss]"
Are these two references really in dispute? The comment labels them as 'self-published' however reference #6 is from the text of a transcribed article from Kerrang Magazine, currently hosted on a site with numerous other article transcriptions about the group.. and reference #4 seems to be in-depth mostly referenced article written by a published music researcher/enthusiast. It seems that it's unlikely that we'll find better 'scholarly' articles written about music groups like Dread Zeppelin. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Centerone ( talk • contribs) 18:53, 29 March 2010 (UTC)
Is Gary Putman's stagename Butt-Boy or Put-Mon? Or did he use them both? The article is not clear about this. Lennart97 ( talk) 16:19, 31 July 2012 (UTC)
Not sure what the Wiki guidelines are on this, but the names are presented in an inconsistent fashion in the article. Most times it is done with the stage names first along with actual names in parenthesis. Toward the end of the article this is reversed. I believe it is important to identify the members with both names, but feel this needs to be done consistently. In other articles I am familiar with, after first mention, individuals are then identified by surname. I would say this would be an appropriate way to handle the members in this article also, but which names to use - stage or actual? I lean towards actual as, in my mind, using stage names makes the article sound like something written for a fan magazine, not an encyclopedia. Thoughts? THX1136 ( talk) 15:45, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

I can't find any evidence of the band doing much if any touring after 2016, so I'm going to update the "2000-present" section accordingly. A show in 2015 and another 2016 appear on Setlist.fm, but I can't seem to find anything at all past 2016. 28bytes ( talk) 15:57, 21 March 2024 (UTC)
