I noticed on the IMDB page that someone credited Ethan Tavares as portraying someone named Dev. I've only seen one episode so far and he was not in it, can anyone confirm if a character named Dev appears in any episode, and if so, which one it is? Ranze ( talk) 14:56, 22 September 2016 (UTC)
@ Bearcat: I'm all for finding more sources but request some clarification about the templates tagged so I can know what needs fixing first.
I thought any use I made of primary sources here was done in line with WP:PSTS:
In this case, citing them to show that these are indeed episode titles, and citing CBC to show the numbering associated with the episode title and when it aired. Ranze ( talk) 13:52, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
Could you clarify where it says YouTube videos are never acceptable sources? What I used them to support was the fact that CBC added the video to YouTube at the listed date, and CBC links to those videos and the playlist from the official site. It's just to supplement the data on when CBC originally broadcast it on TV since those could differ. Basically an alt date for the episode guide.
I'll keep digging for some news sources but due to the nature of the title it's a bit of a chore, I'm trying various combinations with other words associated with the show for butter results. Ranze ( talk) 17:33, 25 October 2016 (UTC)
Wikipedia:Identifying_reliable_sources#Exceptions mentions "may be acceptable if the content was authored by, and is credited to, credentialed members of the site's editorial staff." and for those able to view them, access to the episodes which are officially made available there is a good source of info on the show. Ranze ( talk) 12:34, 27 October 2016 (UTC)
With 'A Song For Everyone' implying Dot's mixed heritage (singing a Jewish song with her mother and a Christian song with her father) it made me wonder whether Category:Jewish television series is appropriate or not. The category doesn't explain whether Judaism needs to be a central theme of the show or if the central character being Jewish or half-Jewish is enough to qualify it.
It also occurs to me that we don't have a place to put categories which pertain to Dot herself. Largely because there is no obvious extended surname. Given that Hal has consistently referred to her mom as "Mrs. C" and her dad as "Mr. C" calling her " Dot C" and putting categories there would seem to make sense. @ Palettepony895: thanks for adapting the list into a table, I always find that an intimidating task to set up and hard to do when I'm making updates to the list during brief moments on a tablet that doesn't allow for easy text input. I have some new updates I'll incorporate here.
I guess the references I added establishing which titles go with which air dates or episode numbers aren't needed once it has aired so I'll just add them for ones which haven't aired yet. There's 3 new scheduled I'll do. Ranze ( talk) 02:31, 16 November 2016 (UTC)
The title of the January 12 episode advertised in both my digital TV guide and on the CBC website at http://www.cbc.ca/programguide/daily/2017/01/12 (archived http://archive.is/dtjQl here) is "For Pet's Sake" (described as Eps 31 on CBC). The summary being "Dot and Hal open up a pet-sitting business for their friends, but wind up biting off more than they can chew."
I had added this on January 2nd: special:diff/757885892
This is not the episode which actually aired. I figure they mixed it up. What actually aired was "Remembering Ogopogo" about the death of Nev and Dev's Goldfish.
Since this was not listed on CBC, I don't know the official episode number, so what I will do is put it at the bottom of the table without the number and with today's date.
For that reason, while I will keep the reference supporting episode 31's title, I will be removing its date since I can't confirm it to have actually aired.
I would have similar concerns about Rosetta Bone / Scratch Speaks and Wave Goodbye / Shallow End Hal but in these two cases, in spite of the changed title, the summary for the episode did match what actually aired, so I can't confirm that the 2 titles represented different episodes, so they were probably renames and I will keep them listed as Alt Titles for now, possibly splitting later if we do later discover them to be distinct stories. Ranze ( talk) 15:43, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
Although I do not recall hearing his name spoken, he has a speaking role in "Remembering Ogopogo" which just debuted today (in spite of being advertised in the TV guide as "For Pet's Sake") and I found out his name because of the end credits attributing it to voice actor Anand Rajaram.
I can't say for certain (if anyone else wants to watch in cased I missed it) but I usually keep an ear open for trigger words establishing relationships... I don't recall either referring to him as "dad" or "bro" or "uncle" or "cousin" or anything like that, so I can't be entirely certain what their relationship to him is. The similarity in name makes me think it's probably familial... his age I would assume most people are meant to think he is their dad, but until the dialogue actually establishes that I don't want to jump to any conclusions.
If anyone wants to listen in any other episodes, whether or not he appears in them, to see if dialogue can support this. Or perhaps if there is a "parent-teacher" conference he attends in the future it could serve as support for him being their father.
This reminds me... Hal's older brother appeared in the golfing episode "Hal in One"... I forget but I wrote it down somewhere... but I didn't remember to check the end credits for the voice actor... May have to wait until it reruns... regretting deleting that off the PVR now. I'll put a note. Ranze ( talk) 16:01, 12 January 2017 (UTC)
I'm not sure if I should add this to the table. I didn't see it scheduled on my TV (only goes 2 weeks ahead) or CBC (only goes 1 week ahead) but came across http://tv-episodes.prettyfamous.com/l/7583171/Maker-Breaker which says it will air on the 31st.
I'm not sure exactly where PrettyFamous.com would get that information or how realiable it is, but I don't see why someone would make that up... I just wish I knew what reliable source announces titles that far in advance.
The site is clearly not perfect. It for example wrongly lists "For Pet's Sake" as coming out on the 12th, which is what I thought too until I actually watched it and found out that was a wrong advertisement.
It also applies the wrong episode numbers. The CBC schedule lists the official episode numbers, whereas PF just makes up the numbers based on the order they debuted in. Kids shows often debut out of order to their official numbering though (Dot. and Mike the Knight certainly do) so sites should not make assumptions like that. I suppose it might just be automated errors though.
For now I'll assume good faith and list the title / date and this as a reference, but much like Remembering Ogopogo, I can't confirm its official number since CBC hasn't listed it yet. Ranze ( talk) 16:16, 12 January 2017 (UTC)

Does anyone recall an episode where Dot and her parents go camping? I thought I recalled Mr. C referring to it as a "Comet family vacation" but I'm not sure. I might be thinking of some other toon with "SURNAME family vacation" being used. If anyone knows the title of a camping ep here I will watch it again to check but I can't seem to figure out one.
