The first diverging diamond interchange in the United States was in Springfield, Missouri at Interstate 44 and Kansas Expressway ( Missouri Route 13), which opened on June 21, 2009. [1] Since then, the use of diverging diamonds has expanded both within Missouri and across the United States. [2]
