"The Tshwane municipality (which includes the city of Pretoria) has the largest white population of any place on the African continent." This statement confuses me - it is not true as written, because the Cape Town, Johannesburg and Ekurhuleni metros all have numerically larger numbers of white people. (Per the Community Survey 2007: 680 000, 580 000 and 540 000 respectively, compared to 520 000 for Tshwane). If it is referring to white people as a proportion of the total population, then there are a lot of municipalities with greater proportions of white people, eg. Midvaal, Overstrand, Potchefstroom, Saldanha Bay. - htonl ( talk) 20:33, 23 January 2011 (UTC)
I reclassified from Start to C-Class - I think all this article needs to be at least B-Class, is some more citations. #4 to #6 doesn't give any real indication of what source they're from? Some more inline citations would be good, as well, even if they're repeats of #1 using the <ref name= form.
I think the comparison of the new 2011 with the 2001 census results can be misleading as there have been a large number of boundary changes. Stellenbosch hasn't, for example gone from 45% white to 65% white because of a "boost" in the white population but because new figures exclude places which were more coloured or black coloured. Similarly, Meyerton might have more than doubled in white people but maybe that could be more explained by the fact the "main place" increased by 40% in land area. I am thankful for the statistics but to a reader they may appear misleading :) Also I feel the languages section might need some work. Htonl has been able to breakdown the white population by language so possibly that can be done for each area? There are a heck of a coloureds, asians and (recently) blacks that now speak Afr. and Eng natively so maybe these figures should be looked into? Thanks for all the work Bezuidenhout ( talk) 21:14, 27 September 2013 (UTC)
