Please avoid turning this article into a promotional piece for the show. Unsigned comment by Paul Klenk 04:53, August 24, 2005
Dirty Jobs is a program on Discovery channel not a job ad!
The original version of this article [1] was a copyvio of the Discovery Channel's promotional material - see [2] for example. And everyone, please sign your comments with four tildes ~~~~ ! FreplySpang (talk) 18:52, August 26, 2005 (UTC)
I think the whole point of having this show is to excite and exploit interest in disgusting and/or taboo things. That's why I placed this phrase in the intro:it is a cool show. i think he should work on cow farms.
It's like Jackass and the stupid stunt / reality shows. Uncle Ed 15:40, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

I think the show's purpose is to educate people about what otherwise insane jobs go into making life normal for everyone else. Mike doesn't get on camera and go "Hey, watch me eat this feces!". It's more like, "So you actually want me to clean out all the feces in here?" Mustang6172 03:14, 6 September 2006 (UTC)
I know this isn't truly relevant to the article, but he would probably say the word "poo" instead of "feces". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 66.194.118.10 ( talk) 21:33, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
I added some jobs, and will add more that Mike Rowe has done. 65.96.98.74 06:20, 15 February 2006 (UTC)
I found it odd that they had no problem with showing Mike washing a horse's labia and putting his arm into it's vagina and anus, but when he worked at a pet grooming place, they censored the genitalia. PrometheusX303 13:14, 3 March 2006 (UTC)
I a recent episode Hoof Trimmer the kid working with Mike Rowe said crap but when Mike said it they bleeped him. Lobot72 00:44, 17 August 2006 (UTC)
Mike sang this on the geoduck farmer episode. I'm not sure if it can be properly placed in the article, though.
Now everyone who's got a job has got his dues to pay,
working for that paycheck and just getting through the day,
but if you're bored or otherwise inclined to be a slob,
grab your boots, and lose that suit and get a dirty job.
Dirty jobs are everywhere, just take a look around.
They're down the street, they're up the stairs,
they're even underground.
You don't need borrow, beg and you don't need to rob,
All you've got to do is get yourself a dirty job.
All you've got to do is get yourself a dirty job.
One more...
All you've got to do is get your.. self... a... dir... ty... job!

For the record, he sung it in four episodes. At the end of the Oyster segment, During the Views choice special(they replayed the clip from the oyster segment), at the end of the pipe organ cleaner segment, and during the 100th dirty job special. EvilHom3r 14:35, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
Isn't Mike Rowe an old host from the shopping channel QVC?

Image:Dirtyjobslogo.JPG is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BetacommandBot 02:05, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
"Commercials for the show feature the song "Dirty White Boy" by Foreigner."
They no longer use that song. EvilHom3r 02:10, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
I watch Dirty Jobs regularly on Discovery Channel Canada and they always cut out the request for submissions, going straight to the bloopers or whatever. I'll add this to the article, but this is the sort of thing you're unlikley to see cited on a website or in a magzine. The verification comes from watching a Canadian broadcast of Dirty Jobs. 68.146.41.232 ( talk) 19:27, 6 May 2008 (UTC)
This section needs to be trimmed -- it is almost half the article, and most of the details are not that important.

In the first paragraph, it says the pilot aired November 2004, but in the side bar, it says November 2003. Don't know which is right. Sean118 ( talk) 02:41, 8 February 2009 (UTC)
As a Wikipedia article cannot include "original" research, someone should add references to reviews of the show. I would like to point out that a good chunk of the show's humor lies in seeing a blatantly heterosexual man behave in a wussy, sometimes effeminate manner when confronted with uncomfortable situtations, but I can't. (And has anyone uncovered an episode in which Mike doesn't say "poo" at least once?) WilliamSommerwerck ( talk) 11:29, 16 June 2009 (UTC)
Does anyone else think that Dave Barsky could meet notability guidelines for his own article? He has quite a bit of on-air time in Dirty Jobs, second only to Mike. His IMDB bio shows along list of credits as a producer. Finally, a simple Google search turns up over 26,000 hits. -- StuffOfInterest ( talk) 14:35, 26 December 2010 (UTC)
Is Dirty Jobs Down Under a new season of the original show or a brand new series? The press release suggests the latter but Discovery's television marketing is advertising it as the former. I've added the Down Under's episodes to this page and the episode page. ~ Jedi94 ( talk) 15:52, 23 August 2012 (UTC)
