"incensed by the actions of their rivals - attempted to storm the field half an hour later, but were quickly attacked by the Serbian-dominated police who were lenient towards the visiting fans"
Surely this is subjective (and borderline propaganda). I recommend this part is changed or deleted.

The reason it is propaganda is that it gives a reasoning for storming the field - it's the rivals fault, ofcourse. Then it claims the police attacked them and further claims that the police were lenient towards the Red Star fans.
It is well known that at the time the police incessantly beat anyone who was showing inappropriate nationalism in the public - not just Croats. And that had been the case since the dawn of SFRJ.
So in answer to your question: yes, no one denies the police beat up the Dinamo fans but they were not lenient towards the Red Star fans.
