I'm considering merging this article with
Depression position finder, a similar American device that was developed circa 10 years after this one. I'm leaning towards naming the resulting article after the British device, with a redirect of course. Comments are welcome.

Support Although primacy should go with the first device, not just the one with the currently better article.
