DCR is also de file extension for Macromedia Director web files-- Daniel G. 03:37, 24 January 2006 (UTC)
DCR really should not be merged with "List of Massachusetts State Parks" -- the agency encompasses more than State Parks, like parkways, watershed protection, etc. What makes more sense is to remove the list of state parks from the DCR article, and link to the "List of Massachusetts State Parks" article instead. I think that nearly all of the State Parks listed in this article need some cleanup/wfying done to them. It would be nice if someone could assist me in cleaning and fixing up these articles. ~ clearthought 17:14, 3 August 2006 (UTC)
It would be nice if this article had a canonical list of all roads maintained by the department; there are PDF maps you can refer to at List of numbered routes in Massachusetts. -- Beland 02:25, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
Interesting link a back in time look at the park system in Mass in 1900.
I've been trying to untangle this structural spider's web that is the "agencies", "departments", "divisions", "executive offices", et. al of the Massachusetts government. Now, according to a sentence buried deep on the MassDOT's website, it says thiss new body will be "assuming responsibility for many of the bridges *and* parkways currently operated by the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR)"? So there's a chance that some of these could be under MassDOT now?? Note History section. *headache*. CaribDigita ( talk) 01:16, 11 December 2009 (UTC)
All the bridge, parkway, and etc lists should be moved to separate pages just like the List of Massachusetts State Parks. The layout is very confusing and spread out. - 164.223.71.1 ( talk · contribs · WHOIS)

... it's astonishing how all of that history has been conflated to a single sentence in this article, as if nothing of consequence existed before the DCR. - Keith D. Tyler ¶ 20:38, 3 December 2023 (UTC)
