I edited the Delmar T. Spivey page. Major General Spivey was not the highest ranking officer captured in Europe during world war II. Delmar Spivey was the Senior American Officer in Center Compound of Stalag Luft III. General Arthur Vanaman was the highest ranking officer captured in Europe during WWII. After his capture, General Vanaman was sent to Stalag Luft III, where he was the Senior American Officer in the entire camp.

Spivey left a bronze plaque on the gravestone of Berger thanking him for the kind treatment of Air Force POWs in WWII.

The current section in relation to Berger sort of implies that having been exfiltrated to Switzerland bringing the message from Berger to US HQs it was a bit of a joke and he had his leg pulled. Seems though that his gratitude to Berger extended well beyond 1945. Berger really was a major criminal and Post-war Spivey certainly could have known that Berger was opportunistic in trying to instrumentalise him. I feel that as currently written it looks too much that Spivey wasnt duped. I dont know enough about Spivey but it would be interesting to contextualise this action of him with his postwar career possibly anti-bolshevist?-- TrustyJules ( talk) 15:25, 26 November 2017 (UTC)
