I know the Kinks are a big influence on Oasis....does anyone know if the title of this album is a reference to the song "Definite Maybe" off the Kinks' "State of Confusion" album?
how to reach the number 1 chart position on june 1994 when it was released on agoust 1994?
Nothing on the book "Definitely Maybe" by arkady and boris strugatsky??
Why does this article only have the US chart positions? JW 23:10, 5 December 2005 (UTC)
"It has recently re-entered the charts at no. 62 in mid July." Which July is this? Avoid statements that will date quickly. Hairy Dude 18:43, 19 January 2006 (UTC)
"The album folded in elements of jangle pop, shoegazing, New Wave, and indie". Really? Sounded like early Beatles/60s "Britpop" to me. And I mean that in a good way. -- kingboyk 11:31, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
The Robert Christgau review (and he - a professional reviewer - says Beatles too, I might add) is only one line long. It's hardly worthy of a promiment link in the infobox and it would be more economical to just quote it verbatim. -- kingboyk 11:34, 7 March 2006 (UTC)
Does anyone know where the picture on the front cover was taken? I've heard it was at a place called india house in Manchester, but it looks a lot more like a few London house I've been to, and nothing like any of the places in Manchester I've seen (despite having lived here for several years)
I've heard it was actually inside Bonehead's house
Just to let everyone know, Theer was an interview Noel Gallagher made with George Stroumboulopoulos on The Hour. That video was accompanied by a track-by-track segment only posted here (WMP) providing stories to each track. These may be very useful for anyone that wants to go through it and add any missing information. An example would be the clearing of confusion on " Digsy's Dinner", which I have already added. Be sure to reference the video similar to the "Digsy's Dinner" page. Cheers. -- Reaper X 19:50, 28 November 2006 (UTC)
The Hour interview fucking had it come right out of Gallagher's mouth. The website could have been a bloody typing mistake as well. I wouldn't refrain from stating the interview with Stroumboulopoulos is the final word. It's the most reliable source you got when it comes out of his bloody mouth. -- Reaper X 20:09, 4 December 2006 (UTC)

I cannot understand why Tony McCarroll would spread unfounded rumours in his book that Guigsy didn't play bass on the album, despite being credited, and then it snowballs into fan rumours suggesting that Noel underhandedly replaced Bonehead and Guigsy's parts on the first two albums. According to the Recording Oasis website, both Owen Morris and Anjali Hutt deny those rumours and Ms. Hutt admits that she doesn't see the point in people starting unsubstantiated rumours, since she remembers that Guigsy did his bass part just fine. In the Q&A session with Ms. Hutt, it is revealed that Owen's final mix at a studio in London was mostly derived from the sessions at Sawmills in Cornwall, only accessible by boat, where they recorded live in the studio.
I read a comment from Noel saying that the final release of "Definitely Maybe" was essentially played live in the studio with the whole band playing, so it's highly unlikely that he would've replaced each of Gugisy and Bonehead's parts on the final release, since they were running out of time to finish the album by the time Owen came on the scene, according to the Live4ever forum. According to that forum, it says that Tony misinterpreted Owen's remixing and filtering of Guigsy's basslines as erasing them completely.
If somebody can provide a source that verifies Noel's quote, please provide it.

Suitability of the nomination
Wikipedia:Good article nominations/Instructions include "Anyone may nominate an article to be reviewed for GA, although it is preferable that nominators have contributed significantly to the article and are familiar with its subject and its cited sources. Nominators who are not significant contributors to the article should consult regular editors of the article on the article talk page prior to a nomination." It does not appear that WikiEditCrunch has contributed anything to the article. [1] Also, there is no indication that they consulted any actual contributors to the article. This has come up in other "drive-by" GANs by the editor ( Talk:The Doors/GA1, Talk:Vietnam War/GA1, etc.), which were quick failed. This article also has sections of unreferenced material, so it is difficult to tell what may be original research and therefore doesn't meet the verifiable criteria of the GA standards. — Ojorojo ( talk) 19:27, 28 April 2018 (UTC)
Been doing some digging around old Oasis music and listened to the Live Demonstration tape they released in June 1993, noticed that the version of Married with Children on it is *exactly* the same as the one on Definitely Maybe! Surely an edit should be made denoting when it was recorded as it obviously could not have been 5 months after it had already been released? Not sure exactly when or where it was recorded though, apparently it might have been someone's bedroom? Not too sure on the specifics. 77.97.48.180 ( talk) 03:27, 3 August 2018 (UTC)
I see my edit got removed for lacking a reference, so I'll explain my reasoning. In the page text, Dave Batchelor is mentioned as the producer of the first sessions at Monnow Valley. Then in the personnel section, he is only credited with production on "Slide Away". Therefore, I thought it a logical conclusion that must be the only song from the Monnow Valley sessions to be put on the album, since the Sawmills sessions were produced by Mark Coyle. 95.76.25.220 ( talk) 16:01, 25 April 2021 (UTC)
