I've seen that English speaking journalists have randomly translated "De Una Vez" to "At Once"( https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/selena-gomez-de-una-vez-song-video-1114967/ & https://www.vogue.com/article/de-una-vez-selena-gomez-los-perez-interview). As a Spanish speaker, being Spanish my mother language, I find this quite inaccurate. "At Once" is a rough translation that makes no sense in the concept of the song. Not to mention the journalists who "translated" the words seems to not understand the language and their result could be a trivial Google Translator result. The lyrics in Spanish say "De una vez por todas [...] soy más fuerte sola" which could be translated to "Finally/After all/Once and for all I'm better on my own". According to the reliable online bilingual concordance page Linguee,( https://www.linguee.es/search?query=at%20once) "At Once" has other meanings as:
The problem in my opinion is that the title wrongly cuts the original expression which is "de una vez por todas" to "de una vez", turning into a different meaning to the one on the song. In fact, according to the previously mentioned page Linguee, "de una vez por todas" could be translated to "once and for all".( https://www.linguee.es/espanol-ingles/search?source=espanol&query=de+una+vez+por+todas) It has nothing to do with the meaning of "at once".
In my opinion, the best translation for the song could be "Finally" or "Once and for All". I would like to know your opinions and if other fellow Spanish speakers agree with me or have other point of view. Anonpediann ( talk) 11:28, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
The song is clearly latin, not just pop. Just because it is not sourced does not mean it is pop. Just listen to it, it checks every box. Also, the album will be entirely in Spanish, as she has said. Acr9709 ( talk) 19:33, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
