As a delegate to that convention, I saw no such evidence of Maureen McTeer's endorsement. In addition, her memoir, "Im my own Name," Only mentions David Orchard to bemoan his decision to force a second round of voting in 1998.
This article states, "Despite holding many leftist economic views, Orchard holds many socially-conservative positions such as his avowed support for the traditional definition of marriage."
Could someone please provide evidence towards this claim? In a search on Google I could not find statements by Orchard either for or against same-sex marriage in Canada. Thanks, Kurieeto 19:57, Feb 13, 2005 (UTC)
I won't pull the POV card (I think it conforms to the standard), but this article seems very highly speculative, and kind of paints Orchard as a mastermind of deception. Does anyone else agree? Habsfannova 18:26, 25 July 2005 (UTC)
I removed the line saying "One September poll had the Alliance at 13% and the PCs at 19%." Polls from 2003 generally had the CA and PC parties within the margin of error of each other, so pulling out a particular poll that had a greater difference seems misleading. It could be worth mentioning if Orchard specifically cited that poll in his argument, though.-- The Invisible Hand 23:16, 20 April 2006 (UTC)
"On January 31, 2006, a Toronto judge ordered the Conservative Party of Canada to pay Orchard $70,000, the funds from his 2003 leadership campaign which he had been owed since then." What news since then? Has Orchard been paid? Are the Conservatives dragging their feet? 74.102.58.135 23:04, 8 December 2006 (UTC)
