I was just leafing through my new cover editions of the japanese language Sailor Moon manga and noticed that Act 12 is titled "Queen Metaria". Queen Metallia is obviously recognized by a wider group of people, and I personally think it sounds better, but if there is any logic behind this spelling (other than the interchangeable nature of R and L in the Romanization of the Japanese written language.), then it should be given credence. The manga is an official and canonical source of information, and the "Metaria" spelling is seen on the opening page of act 12 (vol.3, pg.5 new cover edition) as well as in the table of contents (vol.3, pg.8 new cover edition), so it may not just be a one off typo. Google only returned 1,030 results for the "Queen Metaria" spelling, but the source showing this spelling is relatively new, and the poularity of any given topic can have little or nothing to do with said topic's legitimacy. A prominent supporter of the "Metaria" spelling, Ian Miller of Dies Gaudii has this to say on the subject:
http://antares7.absoludicrous.net/minerals/darkkingdom/index.html
However, I have noticed that his opinion is genrally mud with a few editors here, and me being a relative newbie, I find it would ill behoove me to stir things up. I've made several merge proposals today, but I have not included a proposal to merge the Shitennou article into this one. Since those characters are from the very first arc and are profoundly different in the manga, anime, dub, musicals, and live-action series--and because some of them have had academic papers written about them--I think there's enough to say about them to justify their own article, at least for now. Everything will be reevaluated once we have a full-fledged character list. -- Masamage ♫ 21:19, 11 October 2008 (UTC)
I think we have too many unnecessary images on this article, and it's only a matter of time before we get called on it. Even before getting to the hard questions, there are two shots we can easily remove--the one of live-action Queen Beryl (who looks the same as normal Beryl), and the one of Super Beryl (who just has different colors and crazy hair). If no one objects to this, I'll remove them in a few days. Meanwhile, any suggestions about what other pictures we can lose would be appreciated. -- Masamage ♫ 17:00, 19 October 2008 (UTC)
In order to be consistent with other mergers that have taken place, I propose the same to the Generals. Thoughts? -- LoЯd ۞pεth 17:49, 15 December 2008 (UTC)
We established a while back over at WT:SM that the subbed anime gives the archvillain's name as Metalia. Since that's the source we've been using for the main characters' names, and since this shows the pun in the name, it seems now's as good a time as any to make the switch, "Metaria" having been a placeholder from some romaji. If no one objects, I'll change it over here and in all other articles in a few days. -- Masamage ♫ 22:09, 14 August 2009 (UTC)
Why is the official sub that was full of spelling errors suddenly more valid than the author herself? How many more times do official releases in English and Japanese have to render this character's name as "Metaria" before people stop clinging to a translation error? The recent re-release in English, as mentioned in the page, says "Metaria" as well. Oh, and for reference, here's some scans of the most recent Japanese release still declaring her name to be Metaria [1]. I think after twenty years, the actual creator of the franchise knows how to spell her character's names better than fans insisting on "correcting" her. Given that I have sources continuously demonstrating this name is correct and nobody has references proving "metalia" is correct, I'm switching it back. Rebochan ( talk) 06:10, 28 January 2014 (UTC)

There's some random unrelated references to my little pony in the article and I feel like they are just unnecessary. To quote from the article:
She also kidnaps and brainwashes Prince Endymion in order to force him to kill his lover (due to rival villains of Nightmare Moon (for My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic from the two-part Season 4 premiere "Princess Twilight Sparkle")) Queen Beryl is soon vaporized along with Metaria when Sailor Moon, who has transformed into Princess Serenity, combines the power of the Silver Crystal with that of the Moon Stick. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 190.44.80.194 ( talk) 01:03, 17 March 2014 (UTC)
I am sorry, but is really necessary to include description of these versions? Americans destroyed whole anime by cutting it, censoring - they actually created different version... So I don't think that such thing should be included along with original series description - it should be moved to the separated article. 2A01:116F:32F:2700:170:CF7C:B708:A18C ( talk) 08:27, 2 July 2014 (UTC)
It makes little sense as it is only an aspect of a property as opposed to a property itself (i.e. Kingdom Hearts or Final Fantasy). Locking this page makes about as much sense as having a locked page for Gummi Ships or Chocobos.
I bring this up because there are a few spelling and grammar errors noticeable right off:
That's in the first few paragraphs. In the Queen Beryl section:
And then there's this:
I don't know if there are more as I only completed reading the Queen Beryl section. Actually there is "preyed on" p2l2, which would read better as "preyed upon."

I've made Good Faith attempts to remove In Universe Style from the intro paragraphs.
These were reverted twice by anonymous [ [1]] with no attempts at a solution. I'll leave this to those who have a more vested interest in the page. Cheers! Sketchee ( talk) 22:08, 29 December 2016 (UTC)
