The newly-created page for
San Francisco Women on the Web has been marked for deletion because someone believes it lacks "importance" and "significance." But no one has marked DC Web Women similarly. Given their similar origins (from
WebGrrls/Aliza_Sherman) and similar focus, that's very strange to me that one group is being singled out for deletion while the other has been on Wikipedia for quite a while and no one has said anything, apparently.
Today, I've added a bit of history, a reference, and more categories for the DC Web women page. But more should be added so it doesn't eventually get marked for deletion as well. There are many, many references on
Google to DC Web Women, and some of these should be on the Wikipedia page.
I've written DC Web Women, hoping their volunteers can add to this page so that it won't be deleted by the Wikipedia Powers That Be.
