When does the voting for the Cy Young award take place? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 18.4.1.76 ( talk) 20:11, 12 October 2007 (UTC)
Voting takes place before the post-season begins. </ref> [1] Bbigjohnson ( talk) 03:46, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
Cy Young winner in 1964, Dean Chance - didn't he play for the Twins?—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 209.253.133.117 ( talk • contribs) 13:11, 2 January 2004.
I don't understand why 64.236.128.14 [2] added a link to Chris Carpenter's "AOL Sports" stats page. Nobody else's name has external links to stats.
On further inspection, 64.236.128.14 -- who has a vandal history -- had also done this to the "pitcher", "Current Major League Baseball players by nationality", "2005 in baseball", "New Hampshire", "Exeter, NH" article previously, as well as other players.
If readers want Carpenter's current stats, they are linked on his page. Woodshed 06:57, 28 July 2006 (UTC)
Please pardon my ignorance, but is the Cy Young Award a physical award--some sort of actual trophy? Glass bowl? Certificate? What does it look like? It would be nice if the award could be pictured or described. Thanks. -- Myles Callum 00:24, 29 November 2006 (UTC)
Clemens did NOT win Cy Young in 2004, Santana did. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 192.28.2.41 ( talk)

If so, how much? This would be useful information. Originalname37 23:58, 19 October 2007 (UTC)
I dont think they get cash bonus from MLB for winning the award but i do know as with all players in there contract their are preformance bonus built in for reaching certin milestones and winning certin awards. ( Mikedlif 15:45, 23 October 2007 (UTC))
This page seems to be the only one claiming that when the results are to be announced on 11/13. Santana did win the AL Golden Glove for Pitchers. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.120.21.190 ( talk) 04:10, 10 November 2007 (UTC)
It's doubtful a pitcher would win with a record of 15 - 13 regardless of era and SOs and now we know it's Sabathia Iamhungey ( talk) 21:32, 30 December 2007 (UTC)
The article currently says, "Roger Clemens was the youngest pitcher to win a second Cy Young Award, while Tim Lincecum is the youngest pitcher to win a second consecutive." But according to the chart, Clemens' first two awards are also consecutive. If Lincecum was younger, the first half of the sentence must be false; if Clemens was younger, the second half of the sentence must be false. Judging from the birthdays, it looks like Clemens was slightly younger, so what's the basis for the Lincecum claim? Iglew ( talk) 01:26, 10 December 2009 (UTC) --This was fixed it appears that Lincecum was the youngest in NL only. In the photo's it said Clayton was the youngest but in the article it says Gooden was. The photo text was fixed. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.65.149.246 ( talk) 17:26, 16 April 2013 (UTC)
There is no reason to remove "best pitcher" from the lead. Yes, it is a singular term. One pitcher wins in the American League, and one pitcher wins in the National League. The lead even says this. This source also says that the Cy Young Award is presented to the best pitcher in each league. — KV5 • Talk • 15:03, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
Something about the nomination process should be added to the article. That's what I actually came here looking for, and there doesn't seem to be anything about it. Tad Lincoln ( talk) 02:42, 14 September 2012 (UTC)
I don't think there is a nomination process. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 208.65.149.246 ( talk) 17:55, 16 April 2013 (UTC)

The photos of Glavine and Smoltz are too wide and spill into the strikeout column.I'd fix but it's not an area of strength with me. Also this isn't a necessity but it would be nice if R.A Dickey's photo of him throwing a pitch had him throwing a knuckleball since that is his primary pitch. Just a thought. Bbigjohnson ( talk) 09:03, 30 September 2015 (UTC)
1. What type of attributes make you the best pitcher? Is it ERA or a combination of things like pitching portfolio? Is it simply the points you get based on voting?
2. It would be nice to replace the cross next to the Hall of Fame Members of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum with something else ... that cross looks like they are dead.
3. I would suggest to cluster all the photos in the right column in a gallery section which is probably more visually enjoyable.
